My Work At The Science Museum of VA
A Marion the Geek Webpage:
Isn't she cute?
My favorite part about working at the Science Museum is the animals.
This is me with Staley, a retired rat basketball star and the sweetest rat in the world.
She likes to lick and she bruxes when you pick her up.
Home
Sometimes she sleeps in her dish.
Her desk.  She's the coach now ^_~

The Corn Snakes

C
D
A- Norm
He is a normal color phase you are likely to find in wild corn snakes.
B- Snow
He is a true albino.  He lacks all pigment.
C- Grey
He is an anerythstic phase.  This means he lacks all red pigment, leaving him a mottled gray and brown color.
D- Red
He is an amelanistic phase.  This means he lacks all brown pigment, leaving him a pink orange red color.
The Rats
Me, Norm, and Snow.  They call me the snake girl at Camp-Ins.
Me, Norm, and Snow.
Ye Pile of Corn Snakes.
And this adorable little fellow is Cam.  He's the newest edition to the science museum.  He is a baby Miami Phase Corn Snake.
The Other Snakes
Snow takes a drink.
Rough Green Snake
Tang the Albino Gopher Snake
My Favorite: The Black Rat Snake
My mother despairs of getting me a camera phone because now she gets pictures like this.  Lets say she is less fond of rats and snakes than I am.
The Other Reptiles
Eastern Fence Lizard
Red Eared Slider
Mississippi Map Turtle
Arachnids and Insects
Pink Toed Tarantula
Doesn't it look like it had its toe-nails painted?
Rose Haired Tarantula
Emporer Scorpion
Praying Mantis
(who always hangs upside down for some reason)
The Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and I have a special relationship...
At each camp-in this year there are classes that require 6 roaches for study.  Since I was already the snake girl, the camp-in people decided I could be the one to fetch the roaches.
They're growing on me, I guess.
It helps to call them all "Edgar."
